Letter meme

Don't ask me for a letter, my alphabet has crashed. But here we go.

Something I hate: Hummers. They're like ordinary 4x4 land barges only even more so. When I'm a kaiju I'm going to step on them all.

Something I love: Horatio Hornblower books, and that begins with two Hs so it must be extra good. My copies have been attacked twice with [personal profile] ceb's book tape and are still falling apart.

If you know me well - yes, I do, but she is not a thing, technically.

Somewhere I've been: Hell. No, wait. Helmsdale, which was the day 13 stop on Land's End to John O'Groats, with the final day's run ahead of us. We had a useful little guidebook from which we planned the route in advance - useful save that it was apparently written by a strong hill climber who loved scenery. He said of the final day, roughly, "mostly flat but a stiff climb out of Helmsdale retains some interest." Thank you, Mr Brown, after 2 weeks of this stuff I was pretty interested in going downhill.

Somewhere I'd like to go: Hell. No, wait. Home. Er. Helsinki, if they win the 2017 Worldcon bid; although, as "since I don't fly I like Continental bids" goes, they are going to be quite challenging to get to.

Someone I know: Heathers. Some summers I go on a punt trip with the Heather I am dating and the Heather who is married to an old acquaintance from the Slimelight. I probably enjoy saying "Miss Heather" and "Mrs Heather" slightly too much.

A film I like: Heathers! Tee hee (and sorry if that's your name and you are fed up with that joke). Wikipedia's list offers Hana-Bi (Takeshi Kitano gangster film) and Hobgoblins (abominable, but a decent episode of MST3K) but I've got to go with Highlander, about which you know already, hence all the extra words about other films. Also, after reading the whole list, the italic capital H now looks a bit like a meaningless glyph, like when you say a word over and over again, stew stew stew stew stew stew.
