Pirates of the Carribean

Don't they know that ssh has rendered arrrr-services obsolete?

BTW, persons of the 'merkin persuasion - did they get the movie trailer guy with the HUGE AMERICAN VOICE to pronounce "Carribean" as "Carr-ih-bee-an" not "Cah-rib-ian" especially for the UK trailer, or did he prounounce it like that over there, too?

I was wondering that too. And gawd, Jonny Depp's accent.

pronunciation

It's pronounced the latter (at least I THINK I understand the distinction you're making) in the American trailer. Which I personally feel is wrong, just for the record. :)

I havea vague memory of seeing an article on a movie-review magazine-style program, which had an interview with the chap who does over half of the voice-overs for Hollywood movies; big, deep, impressive American accent. Except that he's actually a well-spoken chap from Surrey...

FWIW, although I normally hear the latter here, I have also heard the former from Americans and been assured by Dawn that it's also acceptable.

If you're really desperate to know, ask me to rent the DVD through NetFlix in a few months! (-:
