Ayacon was quite good as UK cons go. The usual Masquerade timing cockup, and no decent beer (not that that's any different from US cons, except that at least one can get decent beer in the rest of Northampton - I had some excellent mild at the Wetherspoons by the hotel); sold some stuff in the Bring&Buy, but not enough smut; nothing really gripped me, but Stellvia's not at all bad. BnSQL went down better than I expected. Dressed as Spike for the Halloween night. It's not anime, but neither is Final Fantasy.

Sunday afternoon Wednesday, Mike, Rice and I went swimming, and had an extended fight with those weird floaty frisbee things which was terminated when a mundane couple came into the hotel pool - luckily the laws of dramatic necessity were temporarily repealed, and neither of them was hit in the face with the last shot fired...

B-Movie was damn good, but it always is; the usual scattering of slightly unexpected people or happenings. Last month I met a cyclist who'd had a leg broken by being run over by a cager; nice to see her obviously recovering.

I submitted a couple of entries to the Annotated Pratchett Files, but then forgot to read the annotations in sync with the books. Whoops.

Wednesday keeps buying wine and I keep drinking it. I'm scared I'm developing some discernment. I've attempted to suppress this new-found sophistication with a nice glass of absinthe, which is just giving me that warm incoherent feeling, so I'll be off to bed after this.

NetHack; ascended a Tourist at long last. Now I hardly know what to do next.
