Slimelight was not bad.
It wasn't great, and if I hadn't missed B-Movie last month I'd most likely not have bothered - but it wasn't bad.
Unfortunately there's not enough of a hard core anymore to keep things lively on the goth floor (the proper one, this being a 3-floor Slimelight) after about 0500, and I don't think this was helped by a musical oddity;
In the hour or so up until midnight, they were playing the cliched floor-fillers basically back-to-back - but no matter what you play you can't fill the floor when there's no-one in the place. Going on 0530, it's all slow pretentious stuff that hardly anyone cares about, and so there's three people on the floor - but when they did play the occasional faster thing, they got a dozen or so.
I can't help but feel it would work better to save some of the popular stuff for the wee hours of the morning.
[And we had 51st State twice, not that I am really complaining...]
