Serenity

Saw _Serenity_ last night, and I detected a certain theme to the audience - we lost count of the number of men in long coats and beards.

... and I was very amused by the wave of derisive laughter and catcalls when the trailer for _The Da Vinci Code_ ran. I think there may have been a skeptic or two in the audience. :-)

In other news my bike (still) has a cracked downtube. Unfortunately Robin has lent me his very nice Super Galaxy giving me no motivation to send my bike to the framebuilder...

Meh, can cope... come on, how often do we see even semi-decent stuff for cinema release?

I've also read several recommendations for Night Watch.

It's good; it's just not the BEST MOVIE EVAR. I saw Howl's Moving Castle at the weekend, which is far from Miyazaki's strongest, but it's better than Serenity.

But Serenity's still jolly good.

Interesting; my gut reaction was to rate _Howl_ and _Serenity_ the other way round...
