Saw _Serenity_ last night, and I detected a certain theme to the audience - we lost count of the number of men in long coats and beards.

... and I was very amused by the wave of derisive laughter and catcalls when the trailer for _The Da Vinci Code_ ran. I think there may have been a skeptic or two in the audience. :-)

In other news my bike (still) has a cracked downtube. Unfortunately Robin has lent me his very nice Super Galaxy giving me no motivation to send my bike to the framebuilder...

Ooooh oooh I think a trip to see Serenity may be my reward for surviving the translation. I hope it's good :-)

I certainly enjoyed it, although it does have Whedon's usual difficulties - he's still much better at wisecracks than serious.

Meh, can cope... come on, how often do we see even semi-decent stuff for cinema release?

I've also read several recommendations for Night Watch.

Hell, I'm not saying not to watch it.

Well if that's as much as a recommendation as I'm going to get from you, then it'll just have to suffice ;-)

It's good; it's just not the BEST MOVIE EVAR. I saw Howl's Moving Castle at the weekend, which is far from Miyazaki's strongest, but it's better than Serenity.

But Serenity's still jolly good.

Interesting; my gut reaction was to rate _Howl_ and _Serenity_ the other way round...

But you so seldom cycle anymore anyways.

That also does not increase my motivation.

Yes, yes stop rubbing it in...

(And don't make crude jokes on 'rubbing', 'it' and 'in' :p )

Well, I don't need to make 'em NOW.

River's secret is that she's completely made out of CHOCOLATE.

Haha, Sucker! Faith and I went to Feltham, and no trailers on their previews!

When we went to the NTK computer fair in London my navigation technique was "follow the fat men with beards". And when I got closer, someone used me for a similar technique: "There's a diesel sweeties shirt, we must be going the right way!".

(NB: For those readers unfamiliar with me, I do not have a beard).

I've got to a number of gig by playing "follow the goth".

No doubt there is a failure mode where a loop of fat men with beards forms...

no motivation to send my bike to the framebuilder...

Having to squeeze past the damn thing every time you go in or out of the flat doesn't count? :-)
