will love this, but why is it that American bootlaces last for four years and British ones for six months? Where can I buy non-disintegrating bootlaces?

Army surplus shops, or outdoors shops - they sell the strong kind meant for military and hiking boots.

I mostly use leather laces. This solves the problem.
