Approaching crisis

I'm halfway done with the last book I bought in my last orgy of book-buying. I must repair my Psion and start on my stack of Baen stuff some day - otherwise, I'll be reduced to Robert Jordan again, a horrible fate.

Came into work today at 16mph - even with a headwind, I must be kind of feeble at the moment...

What? There's, like, whole stacks of crap in there you haven't read, like the Kodocha and my girl pr0n and stuff.

I have read most of Kodocha... but manga's awkward to read while eating, etc.

What about pr0n?

Remember that I like to take my current reading matter to work.

What do you think paper book covers are for?

[identity profile] senji.livejournal.com 2003-06-18 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, must be related to your inability to bridge-hop...

[identity profile] damerell.livejournal.com 2003-06-18 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
Only inasmuch as the same incident caused both - bridge-hopping is down to gut muscles, of which I seem to have none left.

On the plus side, if you resort to Robert Jordan, you'll have weeks of reading material to get through before you have to worry about more book purchases.

Go get some Holly Lisle. I'm currently pimping Memory of Fire and The Wreck of Heaven, the latter of which is newish and the sequel to the former. Alternately I'll pimp her Secret Texts books even though I've not read them all.

Ah, but I've only got the first three and I already read one the first time around, and if I'm going to be buying books I may as well buy some of the Bujold I haven't read yet of which there is none. Damn.

[But I've found a decent source for Baen's range in London, so I can now buy as many books as I can carry without resorting to hack fantasy.]

I might have a crack at this Holly Lisle.

If you do get re-enabled for download, I think two of her books are available on the Baen site. One of which is the book of hers I read first, IIRC -- Fire in the Mist if I'm not totally mangling the title. It prompted me to buy more. My reaction to her stuff ranges from 'eh, okay' (second book in that series) to 'wow, give me more'.
