Cthulhu Fluxx
At games night on Tuesday we played Cthulhu Fluxx. Now, you may have played Fluxx, or not; but it's usually a bit unsatisfying, if acceptable in a short beer-and-pretzels game - there are some minimal tactics, but you're mostly at the mercy of the other players permuting the game at random until you can win.
Cthulhu Fluxx is a bit different, because the Creepers and Keepers you collect have some special powers; in particular the Elder Sign and the Necronomicon are very useful. This means there's more ongoing structure to the game - basically, you're trying to nick the Necronomicon and then use it. I'm quite pleased with it.
