I am too tight to pay for the HX when I can just take a book on the Piccadilly line. Interesting point about all night, though - although Bethnal Green -> Paddington is not much easier than Bethnal Green -> LHR by night bus...
It's quite a way out of the city centre; on the plus side, this means it's not rammed even on a Saturday and not overly pricey, and there's plenty of beer. Also, timeplease is an old friend of mine from Cambridge, and now largely runs Individual Pubs.
[That said, if it's going to be a pain to get to, I'll go anywhere with beer; and the Oakdale doesn't really do food yet.]
I'd expect to get there about 17:30 (and leave for the gig [1] about 20:00) - I'll have eaten, since as I think I may have mentioned the Oakdale doesn't do much food yet; their kitchen is still under construction.
