I've just seen something on TV called "The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh".

One of the basically tenuous arguments for the modern structure of copyright law is that it protects much-loved works from undesired reinterpretations.

After seeing this... I prefer the slashers, frankly.

Disney have been raping the cold corpse of Edward Bear for years, and you've only just noticed?

*hugs* this is why I avoid the TV unless there's something I know I want to watch.

Disney's "Winnie the Pooh" is a cruel impostor. The real one is drugged and tied up in a dungeon below the studios. Winnie the Pooh is a serious, mature bear, not a giggling imbecile.

This is why you should not let Disney get hold of your copyright....

*pats*

There there. It has all gone away now... ;)

Well, yes.

What you don't understand is that that's Disney's reason. They don't want their characters being reinterpreted, because if any taste or intelligence were to be added, their core audience would get confused and leave in droves.

You should have stopped after Hogfather, I managed to get a couple of hours sleep in and although I don't quite feel human I feel slightly less dead.
