The insurers do as-new replacement (!) but I anticipate something of a chat with them as they try to fob me off with a cheap folding bicycle, a Brompton with a bottle dynamo system, etc. We shall see, and one thing I might do is agree to take a cheaper second-hand one in order to get it right away. If I'm really lucky I'll get mine back again. :-/

I may be maligning them unfairly.

FWIW our insurers didn't try to fob me off with a cheaper brand of mp3 player, and even ended up giving me the next model up, despite my model still being available at much the same price I paid for it.
