I've just drunk a bottle of Blandford Fly. This beer does not have ginger overtones. It is as gingery as figging. It just about has beer overtones. Not an unequivocal triumph.

I rather like Blandford fly, but you have to be in the mood.

It's great when you have a cold though!

H&W's flavoured beers have artificial flavourings rather than natural ones, which makes them rather less pleasant than they should be.

The Blandford Fly is one of the country's nastier biting insects, the bane of Bryanston boaties.

On the other hand, Blandford Fly makes me want to vomit less than Golden Glory does. That stuff's *nasty*.

De gustibus etc. I'm rather partial to Golden Glory, and while I used to be to Blandford Fly, I've gone off it in recent years to the extent that I'll now avoid it.

It's certainly not much cop. I can't think that anything H&W do is really nice, either...

Are the beer overtones stronger than those of Liefmans? Because I like ginger, but I don't like beer...

No idea, I'm afraid.

This is like the problem with most fruit beers, which can accurately be described as fruity with beer overtones.
