Yes, but the homebrew studded tyres are very very boring to make. The front tyre is steered under you to balance, and so having it studded achieves the important aim of avoiding having a prang. Studding the back tyre would achieve the less important aim of being able to climb steep slopes with smooth ice on them. That said, I'll probably put a half-density pattern on the back for next year.
