I've moved to Dreamwidth. I'm gradually porting fiends lists across in dribs and drabs, but if you're on DW and I stalk you on LJ, leave a comment if you want to be an early drib. Say if you post to DW, or if it's just a placeholder, or if you actually post different things to the two sites?

I'm over here but it's mostly a placeholder...

I'm on both but I post different things on each (there is a small amount of overlap on memes and suchlike).

My rule of thumb is fannish stuff on DW and RL/non-creative stuff on LJ. Drib, drab either, both or neither as preferred although you are more likely to want the RSS feed from my LJ rather than my DW account :-)

Well, we'll see how it goes, and stop reading DW if it's not anything for me.

Comment and post on both. Slowly migrating all writing to DW, but for now (some) stuff stays on LJ, including the on-going bookmeme posts (although I am posting the bookmonth summaries in both places).

Not on DW, but happy to read and comment here.

I'd almost rather people would disable the comments on one if they're posting to both, as otherwise I need to follow two sets of comments. If you'd rather not do that then something like ceb's code which says on the LJ post how many comments there are on DW so far is useful.

Trouble is, disabling DW comments defeats the point of moving; disabling LJ comments is bad for the people who can't or won't figure out OpenID.

I hadn't considered using that because the alt tag is (unavoidably) broken. Maybe I should.

I suppose you could allow anon comments on DW, but only on public posts of course, which doesn't help much. DW gets less spam, so this is less of a problem than on LJ.

I hadn't spotted the alt-tag problem, but although people without graphics won't get to see how many comments there are at least it's informative enough so they know that's what they're not seeing :) Those with graphics get improved info. It's up to you whether you think that's worth it of course, but I find it useful.

I've disabled comments on my LJ, and I'm linking direct to the OpenID login help FAQ in the crossposts.

I figure I dislike LJ enough that if people aren't willing to do the OpenID thing to comment on DW, then I don't care to hear their comments any more.

I'm not sure I want to go quite that far; it seems like people I know are migrating gradually anyway.

Post to DW, automatic cross-post to LJ. I follow both for comments.

I post first on DW and have it set up to automatically x-post to LJ. Mostly the same stuff on both, bar lack of time - I'll sometimes post directly to LJ if I can't get into DW, but that's pretty rare.

I think you know this already, just commenting for sake of completeness.

Postings are in the syndicated feed [profile] stephdiary, which appears not to be syndicated here.

This account is the one you should friend if you want me to read sekrit stuff.

I won't have any secret stuff here that isn't crossposted to LJ - won't you just be reading it there?

If secret stuff there be, there will presumably be disjoint sets of comments on it here and there and somebody might plausibly want to read both.

I post to DW and mirror to LJ (except for my to-do list which is too boring to bother crossposting)

All my content and comments is on DW. LJ has notifications only, pretty much.

There's this one, which is crossposted on LJ, and my main's journal, again here and crossposted, and also the comments are spread over both sites (I started with keeping comments on DW only but people didn't like that somehow... maybe things are better these days).
