I want to fiddle with OpenTTD, which sadly is written in C++. This probably means reading a book or tutorial or something about C++. I'm a Perl programmer (but know little about the OO features of the language) and can at least read C. IWJ says "Stroustrup". Any other recommendations?

I know people who'd say "argh no anything but Stroustrup". I got a couple of pocket O'Reillys last year when wanting to sharpen up my C++ skillz, one about the language and the other about the STL, but realistically I tend to ask questions of google which usually brings me to http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/ and occasionally to stackoverflow.

I learned C++ from Stroustrup and C++ In A Nutshell. It probably shows...

Stroustrup does seem to be winning out.
