I do that from time to time.

I remember bugging you about Rathaus over the weekend (which I spent at the Oxford beer festival, so I may have been less than coherent); but failing that I am planning to come into London to see [livejournal.com profile] zombina Saturday evening and wondered if you'd care to meet up for a swift one beforehand?

That's the 26th, right? Is that the same thing Syaranosui are playing at?

What time are you getting into town?

Rathaus on the 26th - yes, I see they are. Last I looked they hadn't announced any bands. I was going anyway, but that'll be pretty good.

Zombina tomorrow; the gig's at 8ish, but I'd planned to come into London (by Tube from Heathrow, that being a handy play to leave the bike and recover to by night bus at 2am) before 5, in order to go to Playing Games beforehand, which gives me a gap in which I'll probably go for food and to the Oakdale for a swift one anyway.

My cellphone number's 07764 353955; if you want to meet up tomorrow, give me a ring (or reply to this - I'll read email tomorrow lunchtime before setting out). Failing that, I'll hope to see you at Rathaus.

Tube from LHR takes forever, you might be better off using the Heathrow Express, costs a bit more but takes 15 minutes. I think it runs all night too (but you'd better check that).

I'll be in London in the afternoon anyway to have a shower and pick up some stuff, you've got my mobile # too. The Oakdale's a pub? I don't think I know it.

I am too tight to pay for the HX when I can just take a book on the Piccadilly line. Interesting point about all night, though - although Bethnal Green -> Paddington is not much easier than Bethnal Green -> LHR by night bus...

The Oakdale is http://www.individualpubs.co.uk/oakdale/ .

It's quite a way out of the city centre; on the plus side, this means it's not rammed even on a Saturday and not overly pricey, and there's plenty of beer. Also, [livejournal.com profile] timeplease is an old friend of mine from Cambridge, and now largely runs Individual Pubs.

[That said, if it's going to be a pain to get to, I'll go anywhere with beer; and the Oakdale doesn't really do food yet.]

Looks do-able. About what time, so I can make a Plan?

I'd expect to get there about 17:30 (and leave for the gig [1] about 20:00) - I'll have eaten, since as I think I may have mentioned the Oakdale doesn't do much food yet; their kitchen is still under construction.

[1] which turns out to be in a gay bar, which will be a novel experience...
