Marna is spot on the money if you are sophisticated - the Oriental City mall near Colindale Tube station (come out of Tube, turn right, walk for 5-10 minutes) has a very wide range if you escape the depths of Essex - but fortunately I am an ignorant Westerner and will drink anything if it's heated up.
Sainsburys and some off-licences sell Hakutsuru sake, which is actually not bad at all. Tesco sell Choya, which is not in my opinion quite as good. Both go for about 6 quid a bottle.
